What is NEET UG?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG) is India's single entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BYNS, BUMS, BSMS), and veterinary courses in approved government and private colleges. Eligibility
- Class 12: Passed or appearing with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
- Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year. No upper age limit.
- Attempts: No restrictions on the number of attempts.

NEET Counseling Process (MCC & State)
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) official website conducts All India Quota (AIQ) counseling for 15% of MBBS seats in government colleges. The remaining 85% is handled by state counseling authorities.
- 1Round 1 (AIQ + State): Register on MCC portal, fill choices, seat allocation based on rank and preferences.
- 2Round 2: Upgradation round. New choices can be added. Seats from Round 1 are included.
- 3Mop-Up Round: For leftover vacant seats after Round 2.
- 4Stray Vacancy Round: Final round for any remaining seats. Conducted by state authorities.
Top Medical Colleges Accepting NEET Scores
Admission to government medical colleges is conducted through Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and State Authorities. Here are the top colleges with approximate General category opening ranks:
For AIIMS Delhi (General category), the closing rank is typically under 150. For MAMC Delhi, under 3,000. For top NIT-like government colleges, ranks up to 10,000 can secure MBBS seats.
